Back at it for back day

First off the scale says 282.6 not 2,826.  I think that is fat enough and now it’s to start getting in shape again. Right now I have a short term goal of just getting in the 260’s. After that I’ll reevaluate and see where my strength levels are at and go from there.

Josh and I hit the gym – hard tonight.  We worked back, doing 6 exercises 3 sets each in about 40 minutes.  The intensity was high and it was a great workout.  I’m ready to hit it again tomorrow!

Time to get serious

Now that December and the Holidays are coming to close I’m looking for things to get back on track-  that means lifting as well as my blog.  I’ve kept this blog for a year, and I’m glad I did.  I think it’s been beneficial and it’s nice to look back and progress that was made, as well as goals that were missed or achieved.   So in the coming weeks, I hope to have my contests for the year picked out as well as a list of lifting goals.  I’m excited to start kicking ass again.

Lifting and Life

Posted in Thoughts on December 29, 2008 by zackbest

It’s been about a month since my last post, and a lot has happened since then.

  • My injury  -  I evidently strained my pec during Keith’s Power meet.  I’ve been taking it easy since then, and that is tough for me to do – I lose interest quickly with light weight.  I’m making progress though, and that is reassuring.
  • Work – Just my luck during our busiest time of year, my #1 driver got injured and was unable to work.  I had to make numerous trips out of town and missed at least 2 weeks of workouts.  I also had year ending inventory which is very stressful and time consuming.
  • Holidays/Family -  Lifting is important to me, but spending time with friends and family is more important.  It is good to spend time with these people and let them know how important they are in our lives.  That means a few days out of the gym, but the rest and family time was good.

So as much as I hate to hear excuses…these are the reasons that my training hasn’t been going all that well and I haven’t had much to post about, but that  all is about to change.
